Kangaroos

The Kangaroos have dominated international Rugby League since their inception in 1908. Australia have won nine out of the thirteen World Cup tournaments played so far and are consistently ranked first in the RLIF world rankings. Boosting some of the game’s finest players, many favoured the Kangaroos to win their tenth World Cup at home in 2008 in a canter. Australia however were upstaged by the Kiwis in front of over 50,000 fans at Suncorp Stadium in the final, to partially end their international dominance.

Can the Kiwis ever match the Kangaroos?

by League_coach101 - April 19th 2012 @ 10:30am

This week’s trans-Tasman test throws up the same question as this time every year, as we wait for the Kiwis to get soundly belted by a solid Australian side. Every year the media play the game of pretending that the outcome isn’t 90 percent expected. Every year the newspapers are full of articles about how [...]

Beware a New Zealand ambush at Eden Park

by Ryan O'Connell - April 17th 2012 @ 12:59am

On Friday night old foes, Australia and New Zealand will battle each other in the trans-Tasman rugby league Test match. Whilst the Kangaroos will start the match as favourites, the make-up of the Kiwi side has me thinking an upset could be on the cards. The New Zealand squad has a little bit of everything: [...]
